Cornish Coastline.
Through these tapestries I hope to connect the viewer with the world around them. Here in Cornwall we are surrounded by seascapes and coastlines. I have two dogs which I regularly take for walks along the coast, stopping to sketch or photograph a view, which will then be enlarged and woven into a tapestry. I love separating the foreground, centre, then background, using the natural rhythm of weaving (grid and lines) to build up the image. The colours are always a joy to experiment with, as the beach quite often is blown into waves of valleys and shallow pools, which reflect the light, sea and foliage.
