Handspun Fibre & Locks Collection.

This is a personal research collection. I was reintroduced to spinning four years ago by the Guild of Spinners and Weavers and since then have been influenced by the exploration of British Fleeces, natural fibres and locks.
It would be true to say that I have been captivated by the entire process of producing yarn from raw fleece. I was fascinated to experiment with spinning yarn from Linen Flax and have used the yarn to produce a collection of tapestries. It has been a freeing experience to produce work that is purely aesthetic, that is not confined by its need to be a practical material. I have strived to use British products and better still local producers. I have now a container full of raw fleeces from local alpacas and sheep to sort, spin and weave.
